Canon Rebel T1i leak? 15MP DSLR with 1080p video

It appears CNET has jumped the gun on Canon’s Rebel T1i. A long speculated Canon entry-level DSLR to be released tomorrow was leaked early today by CNET video podcasting. It was later pulled, reported from Chang’s Blog, with content revealed a 15MP crop sensor image sensor DSLR with ability to shoot 1080p video at 20fps (oddly), or 720p video at 30fps.

Chang was able to capture the screenshot of the Cnet podcast before it went down. A new video mode now appears on main dial. Here’s another one that confirmed the podcast from reported by photograhybay, but that’s all to it, Folks. Stay tuned for more tomorrow.

Samsung N120: 10.5hrs battery & full-size keys

As well as the N110 and N310, Samsung have a third new netbook, the Samsung N120.  Equipped with the same 10.1-inch display as the N110, the Samsung N120’s party trick is a full-sized 12.1-inch notebook keyboard; the Intel Atom-based netbook also promises up to 10.5hrs runtime from the 6-cell battery pack.

The specific Atom CPU is unconfirmed, as is storage and RAM, but it’s reasonable to assume that they’re the 1.6Ghz N270, 160GB of HDD and 1GB respectively.  We do know that there’s a 1.3-megapixel webcam, WiFi and optional Bluetooth 2.0, together with an anti-bacterial keyboard.

There’s also three USB 2.0 ports, a 3-in-1 memory card reader and 1.28kg weight even with the 6-cell battery pack.  Samsung have also fitted twin 1.5W speakers and a subwoofer.  No pricing, but the Samsung N120 will be available in April in most worldwide markets.

  • Samsung N310 hands-on suggests style over substance

The Samsung N310’s claim to fame might be its VAIO-style keyboard and rubbery shell, but in a segment with as little model differentiation as netbooks they could be enough to single it out.  Pocket-lint snagged some hands-on time with the Naoto Fukasawa-designed ultraportable.

It’s not ruggedized, just has a “rubberised feel to it”, and the embossed logo might work in small-scale like on the back of Samsung’s cellphones but it’s pretty intrusive across the reverse of a 10-inch display.  That keyboard, meanwhile, is 93-percent standard size, and the whole things weighs 1.23kg with up to 5hrs battery life.

What that basically means is you’re paying with weight and runtime for the style: Samsung’s other new netbook, the N120, claims 10.2hrs battery in just 1.28kg of overall weight.  Still, the rubbery N310 will likely find some appeal when it hits Europe, Asia and the US in May, with pricing around $399 ($588).
